COUNTING MY DAYS
______________________________________________________________________

I'm here in the country of the freedom and where dreams come true (see America's Got Talent or American Idol for reference). Well.. there isn't something like that in advertising (I'm not sure…). Well, we have portfolio schools, where you work around the clock (no cameras, but there is probably the same amount of fighting and tears), but instead of earning a money prize, you can earn a job to pay back the money that you spenton school. In Spain we don't have that many of those schools, maybe in some years we'll have them. And in the Universidad (college in your language) you learn in books how be a creative. Really smart and creative, right?

Ok, I went to one of those Universidades in Spain (Universidad Complutense de Madrid) and I studied advertising and public relations. I learned the magic word portfolio, but not how to make one. I remember sitting in the class the first day, and a teacher told us that probably all of us starting wanted to be creatives, and maybe a lucky 2 or 3 (out of 100) would get it. And it was true! Hopefully I made it to be one of those. Being stubborn andkind of crazy, and flying from the nice Spain to Atlanta, Georgia, to a places called The Creative Circus for 2 years, I got the magic portfolio with a bunch of fake ads.

And now, almost 2 years later I am still here but counting my days, because I don't have a job and work visa that can give me that freedom and make dreams come true. It is either this, or go on American Idol. And I don't sing that well.

I really want to stay, and be one of those 2 or 3 creatives, but in America. So, we have 49 days to get to know each other.

(I tried to find videos of me singing in the Music School, thankfully for your ears I didn't. Here's is the nice balloon crown matching my clothes instead)
